YoPhI Teen Board Opens Grant Application

In spite of social distancing, the members of the YoPhI Teen Board and YoPhI Alumni Board have been working hard to get closer and closer to define their missions for the 2020-21 grantmaking cycle. After research, deliberation, and debate, the nine YoPhI Teen Board members – first year participants in the grantmaking efforts – decided to focus their giving on Environmental Sustainability, particularly for efforts to promote justice and equity in the greater Indianapolis area. The 10 members of the YoPhI Alumni Board – returning participants who created an all new program so they could continue their grantmaking efforts together – will focus their allocations on programs that support Civil Rights. Their decision comes after group consensus building and a series of impactful learning opportunities with “Repair the World” on modes of social changes and Jewish understandings on making societal impact. After all this hard work, both cohorts are looking forward to reviewing proposals.
The YoPhI Teen Board and YoPhI Alumni Board are currently accepting grant proposals for projects in their given focus areas. To view each group’s mission statement and to access the Request for Proposals, visit www.jewishindianapolis.org/yophi-teen-board. Proposals are due by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, and must be submitted electronically.
Additionally, fundraising for the 2021 Grantmaking Pool opens on Jan. 24.
