YoPhI Teen Board Update

The members of the Lou & Sybil Mervis YoPhI Teen Board have been hard at work this winter supporting their philanthropic vision and mission for the 2021-22 program year. Just before the start of the new year, the Teen Board members set their grantmaking focus for the year on Combatting Antisemitism & Hate. The Teen Board members released a request for proposals to the non-profit community seeking projects that addressed their chosen mission statement.

The 2021-22 cohort of the YoPhI Teen Board will support programs that combat rising antisemitism and hate. The Teen Board requested proposals that help to combat antisemitism with a focus to a) support youth and teens and/or b) build resilient communities and support positive mental health for those affected.

Through mid-February the YoPhI Teen Board accepted grant applications and is working to wrap up their site visits with potential grantees over the coming weeks. The Teen Board members will then convene in the spring to finalize their allocations and put their values into action with grants supporting this focus area and mission statement.

All the while, the members of the YoPhI Teen Board have been hard at work fundraising monies in order to support their grantmaking and the amazing work of their grantees. The Teen Board members are off to a wonderful fundraising start but only have a few weeks remaining.
